Chris Huskamp Supports SCCA Formula Car Rules Committees

With more and more innovative approaches to circumventing rules for being created, experienced creative thinkers are needed to predict the direction and ‘opportunities’ racers could exploit. Due to his depth of experience in top-tier racing series and precise process specification creation for aerospace, Chris was asked to participate in the Sports Car Club of America’s Formula & Sports-racer Rules Advisory Committee. His experience was also called upon to head the Formula B Adhoc Committee that was focused on developing and equitable restriction plan to cap the power output from the 1000cc motorcycle based power units for 2015 Competition. This task was successfully completed by assembling a group of nine competitors, car builders and engine developers that, though differing in approach were able to work together to execute the requirement. This team developed a significant amount of engine and flow-bench test data to validate the approach courtesy of George Dean Racing Engines and Jay Novak. Both are great guys with deep passion for racing. Thanks guys!

HME Attends the Inaugural USGP

Chris Huskamp attended the highly anticipated inaugural USGP at the Circuit Of The Americas (COTA.) Travelling with Chris were Simon Anderson IBC’s CFO and Mike Jarvis an IBC BOD member with an extensive background in motorsports. All in attendance were very pleased with the facility and even at a sold-out capacity, the facility showed opportunity for growth. Well done Texas!

HME Signs Technical Marketing Agreement With IBC Advanced Alloys

HME is pleased to announce that we have signed a continuation contract with IBC Advanced Alloys Engineered Materials Division in Wilmington, MA. IBC is a progressive company whose materials include the Beralcast family of aluminum-beryllium alloys. Beralcast 191 and 363 alloys offer the modulus (stiffness) of steel at 29.6Msi with a density lower than aluminum alloys at 0.78 pounds per cubic inch. The mechanical performance is similar to the aluminum alloys they are replacing. HME will continue to assist IBC in growing market share and applications in the aerospace, motorsports and commercial goods markets.

HME Supplies Carbon Fiber Components to Mitchell Racing Services

HME carbon fiber brake ducts installed in a Scorpion Aero Nose

HME signs agreement with Mitchell Racing Services of Indianapolis, IN to design and exclusively supply ultra-lightweight carbon fiber brake cooling and interior panel packages for the Scorpion Formula 500 racecars. The carbon/kevlar interior panels save 40% of theweight for the aluminum panels, while providing an increased level of intrusion protection. The brake cooling package is a low drag, high cooling flow option that blends seamlessly into the Scorpion sportscar nose.
